Growing roses in the shade may be an oxymoron, but the enamored rose enthusiast will prevail. I garden in southwest Ohio, just north of Cincinnati, zone 6, and grow Old Garden Roses, shrub, and species roses. You will find here a private garden full of photos, rose lore, and rose culture. Accompanying each rose photo are personal notes and the descriptions and history taken in large part from older rose books
